About the Event
Multi-platinum selling artist, five-time Grammy winner and music icon, Lionel Richie, announced the extension of his worldwide "All The Hits All Night Long” tour today, traveling through North America this summer with special guest CeeLo Green. The tour has sold out across the globe in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Middle East. Richie will bring the hit-filled show, featuring songs from the Commodores to today, to Austin360 Amphitheater Thursday, July 10, 2014. “I’m so lucky to have the collection of songs that I can play for my fans, it becomes a giant sing-along most nights,” said Lionel. “People always ask me ‘what are you going to sing tonight Lionel?” and I always laugh and reply, “what are YOU going to sing tonight?”
Lionel Richie has a discography of albums and singles that navigate an emotional landscape that few writers/entertainers have ever truly captured. A little known fact that is that Lionel Richie, let’s just call him Lionel, and Irving Berlin are the only two songwriters in history to achieve the honor of having #1 records for nine consecutive years and that the real story behind Lionel is essentially the American dream.
Richie’s last album, Tuskegee, reached the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 after its March 12, 2012 release. Tuskegee was certified platinum on May 3, 2012 after selling one million units in the United States. Overall, Lionel has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.
